You can learn to be happier….

July 21, 2019 By Vivian Leave a Comment

How you personally experience the world is simply a pattern that your brain has memorized.

Your happiness set point isn’t set in stone.

But…….

Your habits and rituals are deeply carved routes that take major effort to change.

If you’re feeling stuck or in a rut and wanting to up level your life experience you can learn to think differently.

Change requires connection, reinforcing new patterns and building constructive habits.

In non geeky language you choose to take a journey towards your joy. Over time you’ll begin to feel more alive and feel more joy. This equals being happier.

I stand behind getting this done through your direct lived experiences. There’s nothing missing, nothing else you need first. Because you’re reading this email I have full faith that you can begin right now.

It’s the building block of how humans do any change.

You can do this on your own aka DIY it, in our community aka Within (U)niversity or with your friends and family.

I’m going to nudge you towards doing it with others.

You’re a human remember? We NEED connection.

If you’ve been wondering how, here are two suggestions that might be for you.

Suggested Daily Practice, anywhere from 21- 40 days

Option one:

Notice what captures your attention, curiosity, or wonder.

If it catches you by surprise it’s a *New Moment*.

You can take advantage of the interruption in your pattern to build a better habitual way of being.

Focus on the Direct Experience: Ask yourself “Why?” Why did it capture your attention. Then perceive more. Move through all your senses

Reflective questioning creates cracks of new awareness, and open you to possibility.

Reliving the experience installs it into your brain.

Option Two:

Notice one meaningful experience from your day.

Write down every detail you can remember. You’re reliving it.

Your brain can’t tell the difference between visualization and a lived experience.

By living it twice you’re forming new connections between brain cells that reorganize your brain.

Either of these simple changes will make you happier over time by interrupting the pattern your brain has memorized.

Sunday Smiles your Way,

Vivi
